Graham Jackson

v3 11/01/08

Data aligns with the Hills v9 database. The only significant difference from the current release is the demotion of Sgurr nan Ceannaichean to Corbett which postdates the 1997 Tables.

GPS users - can you help?
We are building a dataset of reliable 10-figure GPS references based on ground measurements (not from maps). If you would like to help, please read our requirements in the Database notes. Our interest is not limited to hills for which we lack a figure in the Hills database, as multiple entries improve the accuracy and reliability of the data.
2008 Hills Database survey
Survey results (pdf)

The survey ran from 1 July 2008 for 10 weeks, attracting 59 responses. It was encouraging to get so many favourable comments and constructive suggestions. The sample was no doubt over-represented by those who would like to see further development of the database, but that's not necessarily bad.

For our latest plans for the database, see Latest News.
